Product Review

Visual Land's V-Clip Pro is a clip-on MP3 player, but they pack in more than just a few basics: get playback of your MP3/WMA/WAV files, FM radio, voice recording, USB storage, and more--all in a package weighing just over a half ounce.

Clip-on Tunes to Go
Seriously Portable

Weighing in at just over half an ounce, the V-Clip is light enough that you'll forget it's there. The built-in clip lets you snap it onto your clothing, bag, etc., and easily take it anywhere. This makes the V-Clip ideal for exercise or other activities where you don't want a bulky media player bothering you, or if you don't want to wear an uncomfortable armband or other solution.
Three-Line LCD Screen

Despite the V-Clip only being just 2.38 x 1.19 x 0.63 inches, Visual Land managed to fit in an anti-scratch three-line LCD screen for seeing track info and easily navigating device features.
MP3/WMA/WAV Playback

Play back your favorite MP3/WMA files with easy-to-use controls, complete with various playback modes and additional support for uncompressed WAV files.

With 4 GB of memory, you'll have room for about 1,000 songs--that ought to be enough to get you through a workout. Of course, thanks to the MicroSD card slot you can always expand your memory or swap out different cards for different situations.
Visual Land V-Clip Pro Clip
Convenient clip to attach the player to your clothing, bag, etc., and a MicroSD card slot for memory expansion.
Visual Land V-Clip Pro Trio
Available in red, blue, and black.

On a full charge, you'll get about a whole day--24 hours--of playback time. The unit charges through your USB port or USB power adapter.
Built-in Speaker

Sometimes you want to share your tunes quickly with friends, and there's no stereo around to plug into. The V-Clip Pro's built-in speaker lets you do just that.
FM Tuner

Catch up on the news or listen to your favorite stations on the built-in FM radio--or tune into one of the FM TV transmitters at the gym. Store your favorite stations for quick access.
Voice Recorder

Need to capture a quick voice memo, or even a meeting or lecture? Use the built-in microphone to record for later. You can also record live FM radio to remember a tune for later, or save a program for later enjoyment.
USB Storage

You can also use the V-Clip Pro to take a few important files with you, since it doubles as a Flash drive.

I own several MP3 players, so I had certain minimum expectations: I wanted to be able to stop and start from where I left of, and I wanted to be able to control the volume up and down with a single button. This MP3 player does not do either of these simple functions. If someone figured out how to do either of these functions, I would greatly appreciate a response via comments with your tips.

Below is complete run down of my likes and dislikes for the player.

I liked:

1. The clip on the player is very nice, I like being able to clip it to anything (update: it broke off after 2 months of occasional use)

2. I like having a speaker in addition to the earphones. Granted it is not a great speaker, but sometimes you want to continue listening without the earphones and it is handy

3. Nice size

4. Controls are reasonably easy to use, even though the screen is very small and text is tiny and hard to see, but controls...Read more

The MP3 is cheap but for a reason. I primarily bought it for its speakers but don't go for the speakers: they are useless.

The User interface is terrible. It does not remember the last selected mode so even if you were listening to music before turning it off last, next time you turn it on, you need to select the Music mode again.

Worst issue: the player goes into sleep mode when you put pause the player for more than a minute or so. Once that happens, there's no way it will wake up again. You have to turn off the power, turn it on again and select the music mode again to get back to listening your songs. And your ordeal does not stop here. It won't consistently remember the last song you were listening to.

There is sleep mode setting in settings mode but that gets reset to zero every time the player is turned off.

The company needs to seriously fix the User interface before bringing such a product to market.

I bought a Sansa...Read more

Got this as a gift because I wanted an ultra portable FM player. This thing is light and only about an inch and a half long. Works great when I go out running, as it doesn't weigh me down, and provides ample volume so I block out the world around me. My music collection is over 16gb, so I can't store all my music, but I have enough room to store my favorite songs. UI is simple - only the technologically challenged may have difficulty using it.
