Summary: Awesome media player! 2010-03-14
Comment: This is the MP3 player of my dreams! i have owned 4 in my life, and this is by far the best! It took me a while to figure out all it has to offer, but it is great. I am a clumsy person who drops my MP3 players, might get them wet, yada yada yada...this is the best. BTW, Cobys suck. they are cheap and worthless. I had two and the first broke within the year (power button) and the second in 5 days (usb compartments fell out completely). I have a generic that i also keep for emergencies, since i can't live w/o music.

I didn't know that it was a 2GB when i purchased it. It's a nice surprise...Nice look. The only thing i don't like are the headphones. Throw them out, replace them. I thought i had gone deaf when i played my music and i could barely hear it at full volume. I waited until they wore out (about a week of heavy use), and put in my spares (china-made, ebay-bought cheap) and turned on my IBeat, and i nearly went deaf then! The music was so loud! So, as i said, throw the headphones out and get another pair. Dollar Tree ones should be fine enough, so another dollar...whoopie.

Good Video quality, download the converter from the included cd. It doesn't skip, and if you turn it off while it's playing, it'll continue right from where you left off when you turn on. With my emergency player, it turns off when it pleases, even when in 'Lock' position...not this one. I don't even turn it on lock...how nice!

Summary: PLEASE DO NOT BUY!!!!! 2009-09-17
Comment: No reflection on the seller, the manufacturer that made these is the one to blame, but no reason to waste money on something that will be non-functioning in a month or two. I have 3 of those just sitting around here looking at me!!! I never received this one from the seller after waiting for a month and they had them on sale at my local Office Depot store for less. Seller was apologetic and refund was swifty!!!!

Comment: I got this from Office Depot about 2 months ago. It takes some time to figure out, and it has a few little things I don't like about it, but it still does it's job great. It can hold music, videos, pictures, voice recordings, and it plays the radio, too. You can easily put videos off of Youtube onto it, if you have the right software. It organizes music files, and you can switch from file to file by briefly clicking the power button.
One thing I don't like is that while scrolling through videos, you have to press the next button multiple times to go to the next one. It also doesn't sort them by file, so it makes it hard to find the one you want.
Another thing I don't like is that it can only take a certain kind of headphones. The ones it comes with, or ones that are a certain type. Can't remember the exact ones right now... You also can't plug in into the car, cause it'll break.
It's a good idea to have it on "keys locked" mode when you turn it off. Otherwise, it'll turn on by itself, and eat the battery up. The battery charges when it's hooked up to the computer, and lasts 10 hours when full. Make sure to always "safely remove software" when you go to unplug it, otherwise it'll break.

Over all, this product is good. It has to put up with a lot - I use it everyday. It works great, and it looks great too. I've had people tell me it looks like a more expensive brand.
BUT, I would highly recommend you just buy another mp3 player. There are WAY better ones out there for less money. This one wasn't really worth even $20.

So that's my review for the Trekstor 74412 i.Beat emo 2GB MP3 Player.

Summary: Trekstor ibeat.emo MP3 player - beware of warranty 2008-07-24
Comment: In most ways, I'd agree with the first review. I also got mine at OfficeDepot, with a rebate of 80% of the purchase price. And, I was mostly happy with the available functions and usability, except for the fact that sometimes a button has to be pushed twice before the intended action occurs. But, one serioius caution: After about a month, the screen stopped working. It would light, but no image. I could tell from attaching it to the computer that the memory was intact. Nothing in the user manual helped, neither did the 'reset' button, FAQs on their website, or re-loading the operating system. That's when I discovered that neither the packaging nor the manual nor the Trekstor website said anything about product warranty (except that it was guaranteed for the intended purpose - but no time-frame or instructions.) I sent email to Trekstor support outlining the problem and got back a reply the next day (nice and fast!) advising me to reload the operating system (which I had already done). My response to Trekstor support, telling them their advice hadn't helped, got no answer. And, they didn't respond to several subsequent email-support submissions either, and it has been about 10 days now. Fortunately for me, OfficeDepot was nice enough to exchange it for me. This might be a product where it makes sense to buy the retailer's extended warranty - there doesn't seem to be one from the manufacturer.
