TrekStor i.Beat sonix (74312), a stylish Video capable MP3 player with an Integrated sharp 2.4" TFT LCD color display, it not only plays music, but also stores photos, displays text files and offers video playback as well. Packed with features, sonix incorporates a built-in FM tuner, ID3 Tag display, and a Voice Recorder with built-in microphone. Based on Flash Memory storage, the 2GB i.Beat sonix can hold about 500 songs, or around 12 hours of continuous listening. In addition to conventional MP3, WMA, WAV and OGG files, the new sonix player supports WMA-DRM10 (Secured Files) Format for playing songs purchased and rented over the Web. As a movie player, it plays back video in AVI format and can be used to store photos as well. In addition, it has a Text viewer to display text files (TXT format). Audio is played back through the included high quality Sennheiser earphones. It can also record WAV files directly from the built-in radio. The lithium polymer battery playback is rated at 12 hours and can be recharged via a USB interface. It also features 30 radio station presets with automatic station search, 6 equalizer settings and 4 repeat functions, user-defined equalizer for individualized sound and folder navigation. Additional functions include picture viewer to display photos in JPEG and BMP format, slide-show function, shuffle function, delete function, music library, calendar, alarm function, auto shut-off with sleep timer function and much more. When I looked at the player, I noticed there was a hole to press to reset the player which I'd hadnt seen on my other player. My unit need to be reset frequently. I had to make sure that I always had a paperclip in my bag (an unbent clip could fit in the hole). The touch screen doesn't work well at all. The player would only accept my finger touch from certain angles. Only taps from my pinky would work. I live in NYC, so we have cold weather and you need to wear gloves in the winter. Forget trying to use the screen with gloves. It was annoying to have to take off my glove and then get the right angle, if i wanted to skip the song or change the radio station. The random play wasnt random. I already knew which song would play next, it never varied. When i would upload new songs, the system would throw in the new songs in the mix. I drive about 40 minutes each way, and only have to recharge it every two weeks or so. It also resumes in the place I left off. The glossy surface is very tough. I have not been particularly careful with it and there are still no scratches on the surface. I wish that it had more memory or an expansion slot, but it is good enough for what I do with it. One thing that I don't like is that the touch screen buttons are too sensitive and you must lock them with the switch at the top or you will accidentally activate a function you don't want to. There is not a clear separation between them either. It should be fine if you have small fingers. I have pushed the wrong button a few time because this. In addition to this, the most frequently used reference point is the cost. vendors and manufacturers have lost any incentive to spend money on customer service. Why pay for an empowered, knowledgeable customer service rep when the best they can do is be effective in satisfying an unhappy consumer which, in the short term, means $$ out of there pockets.
