It really shouldn't be difficult to own and use a set of earbuds, but in reality it is. They seem like an intuitive enough product, yet intuition failed me completely. I was about ready to give up on these as junk in order to shell out more money in search of better sound. My mistake? I didn't read the directions. If these are your first earbuds, don't make this mistake. Without reading the instructions, I thought that comfort was the only concern with which size silicone ear cushion I used. The ones that came attached felt OK, so that's what I started with. I popped them in my ear and connected them up to my SanDisk Sansa Fuze 4 GB Video MP3 Player (Black) (see my review), and I was ready to be amazed.

However, I was quite disappointed at the low volume tinny sound that came out. I couldn't believe that Sony made...Read more

I've bought a lot of under $20 earphones for myself and my 10 year old daughter. These are the only ones that have lasted longer than a month. The sound quality is not spectacular (you get what you pay for) but it is more than adequate. I have actually had more expensive earphones that don't sound as good as these do. I mostly listen to audiobooks, which these are great for, but my music also sounds fine. If you're just looking for something that will let you hear your music these are great. If you are looking for bose quality sound, then buy bose quality earphones.

These earbuds have really great sound quality for the price, and they're superbly comfortable. They also block out sound (they're not noise canceling, but the design is such that you're insulated from outside noise). I love them for running, because they stay in place with no extra fidgeting and don't slip out.

The downside is that they are not made to last. I've had three pairs now, which each lasted 9-10 months. Granted, I use them heavily -- lots of workouts, lots of being banged around in a backpack. For the price, they're fine, and I haven't found any other headphones with comparable sound quality and comfort at this price point. Still, it's really too bad they don't last longer.
