I just got these earbuds... a nice soft lavender color and they are great. I've only had them for less than 1 month, so I'm not sure how the long-term durability is yet, but they produce good quality sound and loud so they can keep out surrounding noises.

Bought these for my 15 year old daughter to replace a different set that broke. Let her try them before buying via one of my other kids' headphones. She tried current generation ipod headphones, KOSS plugs, another Sony set, and even my Shure e3c's and ended up picking these.

According to her - they didn't sound as good as the Shures (of course they wouldn't) but they were more comfortable as she doesn't like isolation type earbuds that expand inside the ears.

They sounded better to her than the KOSS and the Apple headphones but still had a nice fashion touch with the white and splash of color.

She listens on both an iPod Touch and iPod Nano.

She's not an audiophile but certainly can hear the quality difference from a set of $12 KOSS headphones and a $150 pair of Shures.

So, while I still like my Shure headphones, I give these Sonys a solid 4 star rating based on the fact that my daughter loves them and would buy them again.

I love these headphones. I used to have a clear pair, got tired of them so I passed them on to my sis who needed them. Then I bought a pair of skull candy ones *good sound, but were constantly breaking*. I mow lawns and these things are tough, if you tug on the cord they will last, the skull candy ones would just break and i would have to wait three months for the replacement! Amazing quality and let you hear around you when you use them so your not tuning everything out... Great headphones, buy them, you won't regret it!

P.S. It says violet, but to me they are more of a ocean crystally blue color.
