Beware, i bought mine from amazon and they were fakes. I have an authentic pair in black and i thought i'd buy an extra set in white. The cosmetic differences are pretty noticeable and the sound quality is terrible. i got them for only $24 so returning is not really worth it. I was aware of these counterfeits, but i didn't think amazon would be selling them.

After reading some reviews, I was excited to purchase these headphones because they sounded like a reasonable bargain. Unfortunately, they've proven to be quite disappointing.
The build quality is alright: the wire is light and soft and the drivers are soft too though I really can't get them to stay far enough into my ear to isolate and deliver the most sound they have to offer. Also, the wire is a bit too short for me: I can't put my player in my pocket and have the earbuds remain in my ears because there isn't enough chord and the earbuds get pulled out of my ears as soon as I move (I'm 6'2" and this is a pretty common problem with earbuds for me.)
The big disappointment was the sound quality. Bass was almost completely absent; there was only a tiny bit of impact but even that was minimal and the driver had to be quite far into the ear to hear it. I don't expect much from earbuds, given how small the drivers in them are, but these are far and away the least...Read more

I like these headphones.
First though, beware of fake CX300's out there. It seems that the market is full of Chinese counterfeits of this headphone. Price is probably your first indicator of a fake. If it's selling new for less than $30, it's probably a fake. There are many web sites dedicated to exposing the fakes ones vs. real ones... search the web for "CX300 fake."
That said, the pair I bought here from Amazon are the real thing, and they do sound good. You just need to put on the right sized rubber tip on for your ears. I use the medium size. The way to know the right size is to push them into your ear canal until the sound starts to become muted (because it's hitting the end of the canal). Then back it out just a little bit and it should stay in there. That's the position where you get the best bass response. The small size tip kept sliding out and the large one would not go in far enough.
