Okay, the down side of slot radio has been noted in other reviews - you basically have no control of the music being played (except that if you really dislike a song you can end it and click right on to the next one), you can't replay a song and have to wait for it to come back up in the rotation to hear it again, you don't even know what the content is until you buy it, and the sound is not high end digital resolution.
However, the up side of this little gem for me so far outweighs the negatives. It's called SLOT RADIO for a reason - it is like listening to a commercial free RADIO station. You don't get to choose - you change the station when you don't like the song -same here. You skip to the next song or change the playlist - there are seven of them.
For pennies a song you can't go wrong. Even you only like half of the songs it's still a huge bargain to have access to them and to have them on your MP3 player. I look at this like paying a one time price to carry...Read more

Wildly mislabled,

I got this SlotRadio card as a freebie when I bought a Sandisk Sansa MP3 player. Labeled "Oldies", I assumed that the 1,000 tunes would be from the 50's -70's. Well, there's some of that, but so far, what I have found is that most songs are Country. That's not what I had in mind when I selected this card. Besides the inability to repeat a song or rearrange the playlists, I can't find a list of all the songs on these cards. I know this is supposed to emulate a radio, but if I listened to a radio station that advertised itself as an "Oldies" station and they played mostly "Country", I'd find another station. I'd certainly like to see a listing somewhere of what songs are are actually on these cards. It would make putting out 40 or 50 bucks a lot more satisfying.

I was very disappointed. Had too many popular oldies done by bands other than the originals. There were too many tunes that I have never heard. I have more original tunes from the 50's to mid 60's than are on this Oldies Card. When I think of "Oldies" I think of the 50's to say 1966. After that the music and even the artist changed their style to make a total different kind of sound.
I'll think twice before I buy another SanDisk music card because I can and have made my own Music Card with better tunes and almost all original artist. When I say original artist I'm referring to the artist that made the tunes popular.
I gave it 2 stars but maybe it should be a 1.5 star.
