I refuse to buy Apple products and my Creative Nomad Zen Xtra 40GB was getting a little dated.
So this little guy was a nice cheap alternative.
I like that you can use a Micro SD cad to expand the memory.
I bought a 16GB card and use it exclusively.
In hindsight maybe I should have got the 4GB version.
I wanted the 8GB + 16GB because I was planning on using it for FLAC files.
But turns out the FLAC playback is not gapless!
I listen to a lot of mixes and the gaps are annoying and ruin the mix.
I guess they could release a firmware update to fix this but on their forum there is a gapless thread that goes back years and is many pages long and still nothing so I wouldn't hold your breath.
So in the end it just ended up being an MP3 player and I have to rip all my mixes as single files, kind of lame.
EDIT: If you are not afraid to install ROCKBOX, ROCKBOX will playback MP#s an FLAC files gapless (I took the plunge).
So I got over that bit and started enjoying it for what it is but just the other week it started to act up.
The mini plug jack is getting touchy and cutting out music if you move it too much.
I own many sets of headphones and it does it on all of them, so I know it's not just my headphones.
My Creative which is many years old and has had cords plugged in to it a zillion times does not have this problem.
I guess I'll contact Sansa and see if they will send me a replacement ( I assume there is a 1 year warranty against defects).
