2. The 3-1 Accessories in the description should be removed as you can't find the armband unless you live in Europe. (plus they make it sound like the accessories are included but they are not) 3. this armband from belking fits it perfectly for those who can't find an armband for it. This review is from: Samsung U5 2 GB MP3 Player (White) (Electronics) What I use it for: listening to audio books while working at and around home and while running errands
Pros: Inexpensive. Easily loads 4 books at at a time. Works with the standard audio library downloads. Returns to the same place in the book if I the unit off, pause it and it turns off or even if I run the battery down an need to recharge before I can turn it on and restart my book. It has a ffwd and rew. The battery will last all day and charges quickly (manual claims within 2 hrs but it has been closer to 1.5 hrs after I drain it). The back clip is sturdy and feels secure. I wear it on my shirt pocket but on my pants pocket where it sees a lot of shifting, it tends to pop off and end up swinging but I don't expect that the clip will break soon. Recharges with a generic wall plugin USB adapter so I don't have to take my computer with me when all I need is charging. The USB cover is tight and unlikely to ever be lost. There are some minor interface issues:1) The square d-pad type control was a poor choice because the player is often in different orientations. Figuring out which direction controls the volume vs. track skip is a nuisance. 2) The dancing cartoon character animations are stupid (and a little bit embarrassing). An option to disable them (and use the screen space for useful information) would have been nice. The closest I could get was creating my own 4-frame animation with all blank frames to eliminate the animation. I was surprised that the player included an animation editor (on the actual player, not PC software!). |
