This review is from: RCA Jet 4 GB Sports MP3 Player with Video, Music, FM Radio, and Sports Features (Black) (Electronics) I did a little research prior to selecting this MP3 player. I knew I did not want an ipod, and I knew I wanted enough memory to play on long plane rides, the gym, whatever. So far, I've been very happy. The accompanying software is easy to use, as is the device itself. I've had no trouble at all adding music and using the radio function. I was able to upload music from my own PC, and I was able to use the software to burn selected tracks directly from a CD to the MP3 player. I've not used the audiobooks function or any of the fitness functions--so I can't speak to that. I have not evaluated the length of the battery life, since I've only used it intermittently so far. I did find the user manual easy to read--except for the audiobook function. So far, I have only two complaints. First, the user manual recommends that you discharge the device fully before recharging--and it only charges when plugged into the PC. So, make absolutely certain that you know exactly...Read more 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This player does *NOT* have a playlist option, at least not as most MP3 users would understand the term. Yes, you can build a "favorites" list from scratch as you play songs, but you cannot import a playlist you created in Windows Media Player (WMP). Also, the player does not fully recognize the information from WMP, so for example the songs on some albums show up in *alphabetical* order, not in album order. This happened both when I used WMP and when I used the software that came with the device. That's pretty unbelievable. The buttons are clumsy to operate, good luck doing it on a cold day, with or without gloves. Bottom line: I'm returning it. "Beggar's Banquet" is not supposed to start with "Dear Doctor." 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful: This review is from: RCA Jet 4 GB Sports MP3 Player with Video, Music, FM Radio, and Sports Features (Black) (Electronics) I bought the 2gb version of this product initially. I bought it for it's water proofing. It it built sturdy. The arm band is of good quality. I had various problems with it. Some times it wouldn't start. It would keep initializing the database and would finally start after about 10 minues. The unit would reset. RCA took it back under warranty and sent me the 4gb version. It worked well for around 7 months. One day I loaded new songs on the unit. The next time I started it, it said 'initializing' and never got past that point. My PC no longer recognizes it. I'm not able to reset it. I don't recommend this product. You might get a year out of it. For the price I would expect to get 2 years. |
