Customer Rating: 4 Star
Summary: I like it 2008-03-02
Comment: I got this to replace a similar unit that I had dropped.

This unit is versitle, you can have a card for working out, and another for hanging out and not nave to skip songs that are too far out of what you're looking for at that time.
The file management system on the unit is great, broken down into folders and catagories.

Comment: This little mp3 player has eq and bass and treble controls plus hidden controls for contrast and the back light. it sounds very good with my titanium driver headphones from radio shack. it has lots of bass and great highs. it has very good controls.

Customer Rating: 5 Star
Summary: Not to be overlooked 2005-08-05
Comment: I felt that music was missing from my morning runs, and decided to buy an MP3 player. What I wanted was a small player with a decent sound that had expandable memory (meaning it had to be able to use memory cards). I found this little guy and it works for my needs. After searching around and reading a few reviews on various players, I picked up this one. This is not a purchase I would consider well researched, however... I got lucky.

In the box is everything you would need and something's you may not. It includes the player, clip on headphones, USB cable, carrying case, arm band, car cassette adapter, software, manual, and a AA battery.

The player is smaller then the palm of your hand, but the controls are very well laid out.
Left side- Button 1)= On/Play/Pause, Button 2)= Off/Stop, Button 3)= FM Record
Right Side- Button 1)= Volume/scroll, Button 2)= [toggle]select/next/last/f. for/f. rewind Button 3)= Menu select
Took me a minute to figure out the controls (I rarely read the user manual) but it's pretty simple. It has an EQ so you can set the sound output to your preference (Bass, Flat, Rock, Jazz) Sound quality on the included headphones is satisfactory, but individual preference will dictate if you replace them or not.

The memory integrates, meaning it sees the internal memory and external memory card as one when playing. You scroll thru songs without having to select which memory you want to play from. It uses SD or MMC memory cards. For my use I like to add a mix to MMC cards, then depending on my mood, I can select the card I want and plug it in. This eliminates me having to search thru several songs on the internal memory, or having to add and remove MP3s often. It also allows me to put them in the order I want them to play.

Computer interface is easy with Windows XP, however there are Win98/ME drivers included on the CD. It works like any other external storage device in that you can open the device like a drive under "My Computer" and drag and drop or delete WMA or MP3 files onto the player.

The carrying case for the player has a buttoned loop on the back, allowing you to use the included armband or secure to a belt, purse, etc. It also has a swivel connector for a neck strap on top of the player. The armband leaves something to desire (for me anyway) it slips up your arm like a blood pressure sleeve, and is secured by Velcro. It works, but can be annoying to get over clothing or even on when you're not awake yet. The good thing is, given the way the carrying case attaches, you can use any other arm band you want.

FM radio works with a good signal from a local station. Reception isn't the best, but as expected in this type of device with no antenna. I don't personally use this radio since most morning DJs around here won't shut up and just play the music.

I give it 5 stars, as I am not dissatisfied with the player. However take this rating in the proper context, as this is my first MP3 player. Price wise it's probably over priced, but most things are now a days. If you can catch it on sale for around 50 bucks then it would be a good bargain.
