Amazon.com Product Description

Enjoy all your favorite music on the go without sacrificing style or comfort with the chic Philips SA1110 MP3 player. The diminutive player measures a mere 1.12 by 3.27 by 0.87 inches (W x H x D) and weighs only 1 ounce, helping it fit comfortably in your pocket or around your neck. Yet its 1 GB of built-in flash memory stores up to 500 songs, so you have plenty of listening options while working out or commuting. In addition, the SA1110 functions as a USB mass storage device, with the ability to store text files, photos, and a host of other data for either file backup or information transfers. The device--which doesn't require any special software for installation--automatically shows up as a removable drive in Windows Explorer, letting you simply drag and drop files to and from the device.

The SA1110 is a breeze to control thanks to the integrated folder browsing option, which offers a quick shortcut to finding and playing your favorite tunes. To use folder browsing, first organize your music into folders on your PC, giving the folders any name you like, then drag and drop the folders to your device. When you're listening to the player, you can zoom to the songs by holding the next or previous key, after which you'll see the folder names scrolling across one by one. Once you see the folder you're seeking, release the button and the first song will start to play.

Another handy feature is the built-in digital voice recorder, which captures interviews, voice notes, or lectures in WAV format. Other details include four preset equalizer settings (classic, jazz, pop, and rock), a two-line LCD display with a green backlight, a USB 2.0 interface, and a keypad lock. The SA1110, which runs for up to eight hours on a single AAA battery (included), is backed by a one-year warranty.

What's in the Box
SA1110 MP3 player, AAA battery, headphones, USB cable, software CD-ROM, user's manual.

Summary: Do Not Waste Your Money 2008-01-11
Comment: I gave this product to my 15 year old son for Christmas. Last week, he loaded his music onto it. He used it for 3 days. Yes, it goes through batteries quickly. However, the biggest problem was that on day 3, as he was putting it into his pocket, the display cracked. I was watching him and he was not being rough with it. It just cracked and can no longer be read. The menu is worthless. He was so upset. This seems to be a serious design flaw. I don't think putting it into a pocket is a misuse which a product can not be expected to withstand. This was a total waste of money.

Summary: Eats Batteries 2007-12-28
Comment: Works fine, sounds fine (although like most cheap players it's not loud enough), but eats batteries like crazy. I honestly can't believe they even put this thing on the market. If you won a lifetime supply of free batteries on a game show at some point, this might be the player for you. Otherwise, try something else. I just replaced this with a Sony that gets 35 hours of playing time from a full charge.

Summary: wish i coud enjoy it more often... 2007-06-13
Comment: I cannot use it for longer than a half hour without having to replace the battery! There's no way to rearrange the playlist so I have to scroll through all the songs to find the one i want. The sound quality is good but it's not convenient.

Summary: Not good for Podcasting 2007-02-22
Comment: This MP3 player is good for listening to music but not for books or podcasts. It says that it uses usb 2.0 but the upload times are much longer than for other mp3 players I've used. My main problem is that if you listen to large mp3 files (over 40 mins) and then shut off the player it resets and takes you back to the begining of the file. Then if you try to use the fast forward it moves very slow. You might have to hold the ff button down for 10 minutes to move ahead 30. It also seems to burn through batteries much faster than other mp3 players.

Summary: Problematic 2007-01-17
Comment: This things sucks literally--- the life out of any battery. The battery it came with died in 1.5 hours. I have tried three other batteries of different brands (one cheap Big Lots brand, an Energizer and a Duracell) and they get sucked dry quickly. Sometimes, right after you insert a new battery, it will already show that it has been depleted on the Mp3's battery meter. It has other good qualities but if you listen to it on the move a lot like me, consider something with better battery life.
