Amazon.com Product Description
From audio and video playback to voice recording, the Laser MVP-1GB handles it all. The handheld device--which measures a mere 1.5 by 2.95 by 0.75 inches (W x H x D)--is small enough to fit in your pocket or purse, making it ideal for long plane rides and other portable uses. At the same time, its compact body offers enough functions to please everyone from business travelers to bored teenagers. As a music player, the MVP-1GB supports such formats as MP1, MP2, MP3, WMA, ASF, and WAV, giving listeners access to a ton of digital music. It also offers several playback modes, including repeat play (one track, all tracks, or all tracks in a folder), random play, and intro play. Video-wise, the MVP-1GB invites users to convert DVDs, AVI, and other video formats into AMV files, and then play them back on the unit's crisp 1.5-inch LCD display (all files are stored on the unit's 1 GB drive). Want to watch Firefly on the plane or haul along your favorite home movies? No problem. Users can even store digital photos and animated GIFs on the MVP-1GB. And should you need to record a voice memo or a song idea, simply activate the built-in microphone and archive the thought. The player saves voice recordings in either WAV or ACT format, and supports both digital A-B replay and comparison replay. Additional features include a built-in FM tuner with 40 presets; seven preset equalizer modes (normal, rock, pop, classic, soft, jazz, and DBB); an intuitive graphical user interface with a vivid animation menu; and a "private space" disk mode that lets you divide the flash memory into two partitions--one for encrypted (hidden) files and the other for regular files. The MVP-1GB, which is firmware-upgradeable, works with any Windows 2000 and later operating system and is backed by a 90-day manufacturer's warranty. Summary: Not worth 2006-06-25
Comment: Though it has many features like, FM, Voice recorder, Video...etc. But doesn't have good battery backup. Battery charge comes down very quickly within 3-4 hrs.

Summary: Close to perfection 2006-06-10
Comment: I was sick of my old ipod mini running out of battery after 40 minutes so I decided to buy this really cheap Mp3 player.I was shocked to use the features and the skins that were availible. It has brilliant battery power and great quality AMV support. The software included is brilliant and allows you to convert most files to AMV. There is a few slight issues it has:
- The headpone socket is smaller (although it can be converted)
- You cant scroll through MP3'S
Other than that this is the best MP3 player i have ever had and is better than the ipod products as music can easily be dragged to the mp3 folder (same deal with AMV files).
It is obvious that this is a Ipod nano rip-off...but its a damn good one and weighs less

Summary: Laser MVP-1GB: fun, fun, fun 2006-05-15
Comment: I bought the MVP-1GB out of curiosity, to see how good the video is. let's face it- half the price of the Nano, and it plays video!
- disappointing: the instruction sheet is next to useless.
- the audio socket is 2.5mm stereo, not the common 3.5mm.
though the supplied headphones look ok, I used a plug converter (Nokia Ref. ADA-2), and used "good" headphones.
- enjoying: the complete kit (phones, lanyard, silicon case, USB-2 cable). Software installs easily under XP (though there are no instructions), music/movies can by installed by "drag 'n drop"- cool.
the movie conversion software works excellent, very fast. Has even rudimentary editing! Don't forget to set the maximum screen size (default is small), not to be disappointed! I converted .avi from a cheap camera, and .wmv from a download. Quicktime gave me problems (working on it).
The "Help" file is a desaster, "Chinglish" at its worst!
The display is bright& cheerful. (Set photos to its native resolution, 128x128 pixels).
The sound, even on movies, is very good. I watched a 30 min documentary on the MVP-1GB (73 MB), and survived!
The FM radio is fine (has even the Japanese FM band as option!), the reception is good.
There is a phonebook (untried), and a games section (also untried, so far)
Due to the missing instructions, the whole experience is a bit of a 'Mystery Tour', not helped by the machine being relatively slow to respond, but I find it amusing, and I'm having a lot of fun with it. For THAT price, it is highly recommendet!
