I thought this was a great value, and it looks awesome, tons of features. The regular broadcast quality TV (non-HDTV) is just so-so, like many HD capable sets. The component inputs from my DVD and Gamecube look great! I did not know this about big screens, but the glare is pretty bad if you have windows right in front of it, I need to invest in some curtains.
Okay, now the bad part: This TV stopped working after about a month. Most of the inputs (composite, s-video and coaxial) stopped displaying a picture, although sound continued to come through. The only inputs that worked were the component (RGB from DVD and Gamecube). A Sears tech came out and said it needed a new board, whatever that means. So I am off to Sears tonight to see if they can just replace it, which is what the tech suggested, since the part will take 3 weeks to get in. Will update this review if it happens again.

Picked this up on close out. Got it for $1050. Best deal I have ever made. The SD signal from Directv is great, due to the 1080i upconvert. The HD picture on all the Dirctv HD channels, also impressive. For DVD I use a Liteon LVD-2001, this upconverts everything to 1080i, via component input. I fired up Shrek, and it was "jaw dropping good". Do not know how much better it could be. Very pleased, although the remote could be better.
