iriver iFP-995 512 MB Digital Music Player

This mp3 player is amazing, quite honestly. It packs A LOT of features into such a small space. Some of the best things about it are its color screen, FM tuner with 20 preset channels and programmable FM recorder, and its built in lithium ion battery. The battery only takes about 3 hours to charge, but give a whopping 40 hours of playback. File transfers are pretty fast too. It has a line-in, so you can basically record from anywhere. If you choose so, you can plug it into a cd player and start recording off of a cd. It also has this nice feature that will automatically seperate the songs on the cd so that you don't end up with one long track. The EQ is amazing and the 3D enhanced sound is spectacular. I bought this player since I badly needed a good quality player which also has an FM.
The player is very sleek and easy to use. The earphones also produce good quality sound.
The FM reception is also good.
Now coming to cons -
1. I was surprised when I saw that files can not be transported from the player to any PC!! U can not copy the songs from ur player and transfer to PC.
2. It is not a recognizable hard drive. Everytime u need a CD and u need to download the iriver music manager to make it work on ur PC. So, if u r travelling carry not only the player but also cable, CD etc... This is so sick.

But if these things dont matter to u, then uhave got a very good player with very good Seinheiser earphones. Also the UI and Display is really good.

As a caveat, my review may be colored by my out-of-box experience with the iRiver iFP-995: the first one had a defect where it would only download one or two songs before an error occurred, forcing me to disconnect and reconnect the device. Despite reservations, I returned it for another and the second one works fine. On the bright side, the iRiver support staff was helpful and Amazon made returning the item as painless as possible.

That said, I am pleased with the device. It charges from the USB port or from an included wall wart. The internal battery has plenty of juice, too, I've never seen the battery meter say anything but full charge. This means you can travel with just a laptop and the sync cable and have unlimited use.
