Summary: Terrific device 2008-11-12
Comment: I bought this a year ago after reading Cnet's recommendation. Nothing against iPods, but I wanted an mp3 player that has FM radio capability. I have been extremely happy with my Clix.
I also use this device for listening to audio books, and it is excellent for this, in my opinion. It bookmarks (essential!), but it also resumes at my stopping place when I turn it off and back on -- no matter how much time elapses.
Battery life seems pretty good, and it takes about 2-2 1/2 hours to fully recharge. It doesn't seem terribly fragile, and I've given it normal use on an everyday basis. I highly recommend it!

Comment: I ordered this player, but got the rhapsody one instead. I was originally irritated, but then decided to give it a try. The player is well worth the money! I sounds great, is easy to use, and is small. I would recommend the item to anyone who has rhapsody.

Summary: iriver clix gen 2 doesn't live up to my expectations 2008-03-15
Comment: I purchased an iriver clix gen 2 for the sole purpose of downloading digital audio books from my library system on Overdrive Media Console. The specifications for the product claim that it plays wma files as well as wma-drm files. Not true! I've read all the forums and tried every trick in the book, updated the software and everything else possible. It simply will not play these files. A friend bought a $40 Creative Zen Stone Plus and it works great with Overdrive.I contacted customer service and they informed me, too late, that Overdrive Media Console is not supported.
Other than that,an extremely major defect for me, the iriver clix 2 is very easy to navigate and the screen is delightful. The fm radio is great. It accepts transfers of and plays music from other CDs that I own. I only hope that iriver will come up with a software fix that will enable Overdrive Media Console.

Comment: Within 4 months of use, the screen went blank.(the screen going out is a common problem) Sent it in to be repaired. It took 3 months to get it back. When we got it back it was DEAD! I have called customer service so many times but they never return any calls. They have been useless. I would not buy this product because any problems will only cost you more $$$$$$ to replace the unit.
