The one short coming on the iAudio device is the proprietary cable. The device comes with one cable. Buy this as a spare, if you loose the original and wait you will be without music, and that is a crime.
Price is not bad.

There's no reason to use a proprietary power/USB connector when there are plenty of standard varieties available. While the I9 is a nice player, treat that cable like gold or you'll be shelling out for a new one-- even though, like me, you probably already have a fine collection of other cables.

3.0 out of 5 stars excellent sound, wierd ergonomics, proprietary cable :(, December 17, 2011

I have an i9 gathering dust because it uses a proprietary cable, which looks like a mini-usb but is wired differently. While it has great sound, and one can live with its handling quirks, the proprietary cable was an accident waiting to happen, especially in a portable device. Sooner or later, your one proper cable is going to go missing..

I'm annoyed enough with Cowon that they would inconvenience their customer with this silliness that I will be putting the money and time involved in sourcing another cable towards purchasing another mp3 player. If I wanted proprietary and corporate ego-centric nonsense, I could've bought apple.
