My daughter is death on adapters. She's not careful when she plugs them in and distorts the tips. The generic variety just don't hold up. The genuine HP withstands her abuse.

This is great. The cord is actually longer than my original charger's. It came fast and waaayyy cheaper than what I would have paid getting it through HP--$50.

This was a geniune HP mini cord. I did have a problem with it charging and how it has to be positioned to actually get a charge to it. It still is an actual HP adaptar so I am still happy becuase it still does work as long as I have it set correctly.
