Fatman's Finest A more powerful version of the iTube 182, this amplifier delivers a sonic performance and value for money unmatched by similarly specified products. Whatever the source material, you will hear and feel new nuances in the recorded performance through this remarkable design.
The Amplifier The iTube 252 is a fully integrated, single end, class A power amplifier featuring 9 valves and 3 line input stages to offer 25 watts per channel of the smoothest audio around. As with all Fatman iTube Valve amplifiers, all aspects of sound reproduction are handled with incredible accuracy with a natural, precise sound stage that fills the listening room with breadth and depth. From the deepest lows to the highest highs, the program material is reproduced with supreme clarity, accuracy and openness with a beautifully warm tonality. Transients at all frequencies are handled with effortless ease, giving a tight and well controlled bass, a full mid range and a sparkling treble. The attractive chrome finish rounds out the package quite nicely.
The Best of Both Worlds A common complaint in the age of digitized music is that compression kills audio quality. Audiophiles found it difficult enough to cope with 16-bit CDs, let alone a 192 kbps MP3 file. The iTube 252 restores that quality in your signal chain through time-tested valve technology. Featuring four 5881 (EL34) tubes, two 6N8P (6SN7) tubes, two 12AX7 tubes, and a single 6E2 tube, the iTube 252 marries the warmth of classic audio reproduction with the ease of digital technology. The iTube is certain to lend clarity to any signal, be it your iPod or other auxiliary sources.
Full-Featured iPod Dock Use the included, matching Valve Dock with any iPod (except Shuffle). A 27-key remote control is included, giving you complete control over all iPod functionality.
Look and Listen The Valve Dock is ready for video-enabled iPods as well. It features both composite and S-Video output connectors for viewing video on your television. In addition, the device includes two sets of audio-in jacks, for connecting external sound sources, such as a CD player. The included matching speakers provide honest reproduction and complete the package's good looks.
What's in the Box iTube 252 Vacuum Tube Amplifier, iTube Docking Station, Brush / Glove for cleaning, Audio cable to connect Docking Station and Amplifier, Banana Plug speaker cables, Aux source audio cable for connecting CD player, and Video cable to connect docking station to TV.

This review is from: Fatman iTube 252 W/iTube Valve Dock (Electronics)
After reading many reviews on the net about the tremendous sound from the Fatman iTube252 w/ iPod dock I decided to purchase one to use with my Apple iPod Touch. In the Product Description it said "....The iTube 252 includes a matching docking station for all iPod products except the Shuffle." That description remains today 28 Apr 09. Well the Fatman iTube252 does not work with the iPod Touch. When I contacted the manufacturer, the reply was "..well Apple changed the connector and there is no adapter." So now I use the Fatman as a paperweight to hold down my stack of old MacWorld magazines. What a bunch of typical British "state of the oxcart" technology and a customer service standard that ranks below Zimbabwe! England is now "third world" for electronics.
