Amazon.com Product Review

Enjoy your music and podcasts from your iPhone over your car stereo with the TransDock Micro 2.0 from Digital Lifestyle Outfitters (DLO). You'll love the easy, one-handed operation that TransDock micro offers. Using the dial-based interface, you can easily and intuitively adjust TransDock micro settings, as well as manually tune the frequency. And with DLO IntelliTune technology, finding an open FM frequency is easier than ever--with one click, the TransDock Micro finds the ideal station for transmitting your iPhone or iPod over your car's FM radio.

Just plug the TransDock Micro 2.0 into your car's power outlet and search for an open FM frequency.
TransDock micro for iPhone is shielded against mobile phone interference for clear iPhone playback in the car. It works by broadcasting to an open FM radio frequency between 88.1 to 107.9, and with IntelliTune technology, you can scan for these open FM frequencies automatically with a push of a button. Once IntelliTune finds a frequency, simply tune your radio to the frequency displayed on the TransDock micro.

Plus, there's no installation required, so you're ready to go right out of the box--a great alternative to expensive custom installation. Simply plug into your car's 12V outlet to transmit and charge your iPhone while you're on the road, and arrive at your destination fully charged.

After using it twice, the scroll wheel no longer works, meaning I can't tune it manually, and rely on the InteliSense to find a station for me. Fine, except it's terrible. Two blocks after selecting a station, the radio starts overriding the signal again. The broken wheel also means I can't control any of the settings, whatever they may be. The only thing this is good for now is charging my iPhone in the car.

After the first unit I had bought died after 5 hours of use I decided to restrain myself and not write a review. Perhaps I was unlucky, and it was a "lemon" - happens with any product. The transmitter worked fine, with noticeable, but tolerable amount of interference (but only if the listening mode was set to "mono"; "stereo" was unusable). The low sound quality didn't bother me too much as I was using it mostly to listen to podcasts. The Intellitune system is a joke - you will have a better luck finding an available frequency with a random number generator - but if you manually find an empty part of the spectrum then the transmitter performs reasonably well. But soon the unit died.
I exchanged it for a new one, and it performed well for two days. This morning, however, it started acting erratically, and by the end of the day it has died completely. It still charges the iPhone, but I cannot use it as a transmitter. This time I just want my money back, and will never buy anything...Read more

I've used the original for years with iPods and had great success. When I got my iPhone I bought this because of my previous experience. I'm completely disappointed. I've tested it driving the same routes where my old TransDock worked perfectly. This model requires me to constantly change stations. Intellitune is a joke. Most of the time it selects frequencies that have perfectly clear stations playing. I've emailed DLO to express my concerns and their response was "Sorry, check our website for some stations to try."

I suggested the original version to all my friends, I would NEVER suggest this model.
