I loved the specs on this unit. That's because I enjoy listening to books while I work out. And the small size was perfect for carrying in my pocket. But I was disappointed by the failure of the unit to respond to its controles. I could not make it start, stop or change files. It was just not responding to my touch. So I sent it back, rather than have to worry about making it play my books properly. Amazon was very helpful with the return. So, I plan to go on buying stuff from Amazon's site.

Not Worth The Hassle,

First, the Bluetooth[primary reason for purchase]functioned well.
Rapidly downhill after that. One is not informed, until attempting to transfer, create playlists, that additional software[Winamp]is required. This is about a 15 step procedure that follows the download.
Do you wonder why Ipod & Walkman are so popular? Support is strictly by email, another time consuming hassle. The print on the worthless quick start guide is so small that a magnifier is required. The hype for the Zen M300 is just that. After 4 hours of fiddling with this Zen M300 I repackaged it for return.

I pre-ordered the Zen M300 (8G) and after charging it for 4 or 5 hours all that would show up on the screen was "Please wait ..." Trying to contact Creative about the issue was useless! Can you call Creative Customer Service to get a replacement?? NO! The ONLY way to contact them is via their web site which is very limiting and not extremely unresponsive. Apparently Creative just wants to build and sell items and not be responsible after the product is in your hands.
I would suggest you purchase a product from some company other than Creative.
