At first I was nervous about the use of a touchscreen (I normally can't stand to use them), but the Zen has very simple touchscreen buttons, which is not hard or annoying to use (except when you've forgotten to lock the player). I wish that the player had a "bass boost" option on the Equalizer, but other then that the machine is perfect. I bought the yellow because it matched my headphones (which have since died), and because of that I always seem to know where my mp3 player is. I just kind of wish the whole thing had been yellow, and not just the sides and lights. When using the actual music option, everything works just fine. I have run into several problems with the use of the micro sd function, finding that it freezes and needs reset constantly, but I rate the player highly because I wonder if this is a translation issue between the Linux OS and not the actual player itself. That being said, with a bit of fiddling I have always been able to listen to my music on the card, so if...Read more

I decided to trade in the 8GB Ipod Nano I had purchased a couple of years ago and purchase the Zen Style M100. It was a cheaper mp3 to start, but it also provided an even cheaper way to increase its capacity. The addition of a micro SD card would allow up to 32 extra GBs than I had with the Nano.

This model does not have the ease-of-use that Ipods do, so starting it up was only slightly more time consuming. On top of that, the micro SD card has yet to work, so I purchased it for nothing. Another problem comes with adding videos. The player requires you to download an extra converter to convert the videos to a format that the Zen can work with. The converter has failed to convert several videos I have that would otherwise have worked perfectly on my ipod. Creating playlists for the Zen is also more of a pain than the ipod.

Although there are several problems/inconveniences, they are all minor and I still find the Zen to be an adequate substitute for an ipod. The...Read more

I have used Creative for a long time and really like their mp3 players, however, I believe this mp3 payer has several flaws. This may be an early bug that they haven't fixed yet (I bought mine when it was first released) but it is really annoying. For example, sometimes, no matter what button I hit (up, down, play...) it assumes I'm hitting the back button and takes me back a page. Now, if it only did that once in a while it would be okay. But, I have to turn the player off and back on for this problem to correct itself. Also, the volume up button does not work properly.

Overall, I think that this is a good concept. It has nice features, pretty cool design. If the bugs are fixed, I would recommend it. As of now, I'm still using it, it isn't the worst thing I've ever had...
