Summary: Don't get gouged!!! 2008-05-07
Comment: I just saw this (brand new) at a local electronics store for $39.95! It wasn't on special or discounted in any way... I looked at some other sites and 39.95 seems to be the suggested retail price for the 2gb model. Avoid this one on Amazon, get it at your local brick and mortar electronics store or elsewhere online.
I realize that as time goes by the price here may change, but Amazon has this item currently listed at over $70! What a ripoff.

Summary: Way overpriced!!! 2008-04-25
Comment: I bought one of these from Fry's Electronics in Dallas, Texas almost a year ago for US$30, Amazon is (at the time of this review) selling it for US$70!!!!! While this is a simple, easy to use, straightforward MP3 player with good functionality, there is no justification for such price gouging. Amazon either ships directly from the warehouse or has deals with vendors - either way, the savings the vendors/Amazon get from shipping directly to customers (when we even pay shipping in 90% of cases) instead of having to set up retail chains along with all the operating costs, property taxes, employee wages, and so on.. SHOULD be passed on to us.
Instead, Amazon is marking the price up.
Don't let yourself get ripped off. This IS a good MP3 player, but go to an electronics outlet near you to buy it instead. It's not worth 70 bucks.

Summary: Great little player 2008-03-04
Comment: I am extremely please with this device. It does everything that you could ask for in an MP3 player. It has a great sound, and a very high volume output. The bass boost feature is a nice touch and it actually makes a difference in the sound.
The controls are very intuitive and I do not miss having a screen at all. It allows you to store your music in folders (and sub folders), and to either skip to the next song within a folder or skip to the next folder. You also have the typical shuffle and repeat options.
This player is great for audio books because it automatically bookmarks your place when you turn off the unit. It has great battery life (the 10 hours that Creative states is very conservative) - 14 hours on my first charge! It also has a feature that turns off the unit after a few minutes on standby (or pause).
The transfer speed it a lot faster than I expected. This is true with MP3's and MS Office files. I have no problem with transferring files either with the included software, WMP 11, or just plain old "drag & drop" from Explorer.
The unit is extremely light and compact, but durable enough to be carried around in my pocket and never scratch!
I use this a lot with my Belkin FM Transmitter Belkin F8V3080 TuneCast II Mobile FM Transmitter, and the sound is marvelous!
I also own a Creative Zen W 30GB, and I owned a Creative Zen Stone (until I lost it), and I have to admit that Creative has come out with another top-of-the-line MP3 player.
I honestly can't think of one negative thing to say about this player.
