The iAUDIO U3 is a unique multimedia player developed and manufactured by COWON SYSTEMS, It is a portable compact digital audio device that plays many different multimedia audio files in addition to MP3 files and MPEG4 video files. Summary: Don't by Cowon products... 2008-09-06
Comment: I have been thoroughly disappointed with their products and lack of customer service. They average about 2-3 weeks to return an email for customer service issues. I finally got through to a representative and was advised to send the product back to them, at my own expense and they emailed back about 1 month later stating that there is no problem with the item. When I emailed back with a detailed description of the specific situation I encountered (item stopped powering on or charging through the USB port) they ceased communication. I still haven't heard back from them, but will never buy their products ever again. They are terrible both at manufacturing and caring for their customers.

Summary: Does hold anywhere near 4GB 2008-08-13
Comment: I have the iAudio U3 2GB player. I love it. So I bought the 4G version.
The 4GB does not hold as much as the 2GB does. On the 4GB, there is over 2GB in 571 hidden files that can't be seen, accessed, deleted. That leave about 1.8GB for my use. As I said, I can get more on my 2GB unit.

I have tried getting ahold of the iAudio folks, but haven't received any reply. If I don't get this fixed in the next day or two, I will be returning it.

Summary: Really nice portable flash player 2008-05-20
Comment: Gym? Lawn mowing? Walking the dog? Jogging? This is a fantastic choice. I use it with Yuin PK3 earbuds and the sound quality is amazing. Plenty of volume for outdoors, punchy and great bass to boot. The joystick is simple to use without looking. Wish it came with more than 4gb. Very underrated.

Summary: Oy Vey! 2008-03-29
Comment: Why is it so freaking hard to find an mp3 player that actually sounds good? I mean, don't most of us use them primarily for music? This unit sounds okay, better than a number of others I've tried. Problem is, IT'S ALWAYS BREAKING DOWN!!! So, this is the second time I'm sending mine back, and I've only had it three months. It's been gone as much as I've had it! One day it's working and all is well, and the next it's malfunctioning. Heck, I don't even take the thing out of my house! Jeez!! Why can't anyone put together an mp3 player that sound great, and functions as well? Must be tough... I've had two, and this is what happens; you connect it to the computer in MTP mode (to transfer subscription music), and it won't move past the starting screen. It works fine in UMS. So, if you're going to be transfering files from Windows Media or something, you should be fine. This whole market; mp3 players, subscription music... great idea, but it's just not together yet. I wish I could get my little Sansa m-250 to hold subscription music more than one day, as it's been my favorite of about ten different ones!!! Best of luck...

Comment: Small enough to go anywhere, acceptable battery (app. 17 h under real life conditions) and really nice sound.
I'll keep it forever - or at least till it's broken!
