Summary: Good performance for that price 2008-08-25
Comment: I spent a lot of time trying to decide if buying this device and its (twice expensive) samsung counterpart (I wanted that because the hdmi connector). Fortunately, a friend borrowed me this last one for testing; I saw a very bad picture (pixelated) with the samsung. Assuming this bad picture will be for any, I decided to buy the cheap one (coby). For my surprise, the picture quality is perfect with the coby.

Summary: Great digital receiver 2007-11-25
Comment: I live near a metro area. I'm just using the rabbit ears to pick up the signal. System works great. It is a little slow flipping channels but so is every other one. Easy setup, easy to use.

Summary: Good for the Price 2007-11-22
Comment: This unit works good but I haven't seen any way to add channels to the scan list. You can only do a new scan and then you will lose what you had saved with the antenna pointing in the other direction.

Summary: Very good DTV converter 2007-11-11
Comment: I could afford a HDTV if I wanted one, but I imagine seeing the kind of programming they have on TV and the thought of seeing it in high definition is a bit scary. Since I wanted pictures without snow or shadows and more stations, I decided to get the Coby box.
This ATSC tuner by Coby does an excellent job. The remote is well designed, the manual is well written, and I have no major complaints. I live 30 miles from the TV stations in Knoxville and there are many hills and trees near my house, so there are a couple of stations that break up (digitally) and disappear for a second before reappearing. Even so, before I was pulling in 4 stations over the air well enough to watch and now I get 10 or 12. Keep in mind that most of the digital stations broadcast 2 shows instead of 1 and some stations are digital only with no analog (NTSC) simulcast.
I got exactly what I wanted, very clear pictures and more choices. The only problem (that can't be fixed with a better antenna) is that a couple of the stations I used to watch with my analog tuner have a black frame using the Coby tuner. In other words, the pictures are smaller. No way to fix that without some stretching in 2 directions, which would mess up the other stations. So my solution is an antenna switching box where I can quickly route the antenna to either the Coby tuner or the TV. This works fine, but if I am watching a snowy picture using only the TV, the Coby has to be off or it will put digital noise on the picture (radiated interference).
