I bought this for days that I have to work late, because I work around some machines and the speaker in my Iphone didn't quite cut it. The Iphone speaker is louder then this piece of crap is. And yes I tried putting brand new batteries in it..... still sounded like crap and wasn't any louder then my phone. COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY.

nice unit -- the sound is not quite as loud as I would like and the plug feels a little unstable -- and the switch to turn the unit on and off could be more recessed to eliminate accidently turning the unit on and draining the battery.
