Archos Removable Battery for AV420 & PMA430 (500672)

After looking at personal and editorial reviews on the Archos AV420, my intended purchase which I eventually bought. I decided to get accessories for my new toy. There were complaints of batteries being an issue in personal reviews. Concerning the issues possibly surrounding this I bought a spare to counter that and add to the capable battery life of my unit. So far it's been three months and running strong and there are no problems here.

The battery often has a life of four to five hours for video and upward of twelve hours for music. The amount that the hard drive is accessed, screen brightness, and other settings will affect the life of the battery. Recharge time runs up to four to five hours, but that's something I can do in my sleep. It is awesome since it goes to the Archos AV420 a model PVP with a removable battery. How about that IPOD? This battery doesn't quite fit the Archos AV420. I bought this for my brother as a Christmas present. That day he put it in the Archos to charge overnight and it was still dead the next morning. Upon examining it I discovered that there were slight differences between this new battery and the original one. The new one had an almost straight edge across the top of the lid near the connectors whereas the original had a slight oval shape in the middle. This was causing the new battery not to make a solid connection with the power terminals on the unit. Luckily it worked by slightly pulling the terminals up with a pair of tweezers so the the connections would make contact. It now charges and works perfectly fine.
