Don't get me wrong. This thing ain't perfect.
Other than volume, you have no control of the iPod once it's in the case.
BUT, for the price it does the job for at the beach.

I think for the price this item works great for what I want, mostly hiking and biking without having to wear ear phones. It holds my Creative Zen M player well. The sound was loud enough and was good enough quailty for me. It also has a line out which makes it easy to pump it thru my truck or other sound systems without removing it. The battery life has so far been good and even though the unit is not completly waterproof is does supply a great deal of protection form the elements and trama. Altough there are a few things I didn't like, the battery compartment secures with a screw, the on-off resistance is too low, there's extra space inside which makes the unit larger (some of these maybe desirable for others) I'm happy with this product so far. I have used it for about two hours every day for the last few weeks with no problems and still on the first set of batterys.
Don't get it for the iPod Touch or most smart phones,

I bought this to use my iPod Touch and it doesn't fit with the lid closed. At the time I had a Blackberry and that also didn't fit. Now I have a different smart phone which doesn't fit either. If you look at the dimensions (as I did), you might think your iPod or phone will fit, but there is a shelf inside that decreases the available space. They should have built in a little breathing room, IMO, or at least indicated which devices would work. Unless it were 3 times the size it is now, I doubt anyone would have complained about it being too big. If you happen to have a smaller iPod or MP3 player, the product works as expected, though, and gets plenty loud. It seals tightly (don't dunk it, but splashes are fine) and the sound coming out is decent. There is also an external headphone jack, which is nice. You can't see and don't have any control over the MP3 player once it's inside the case except for volume, but I knew that when I got it, so that's fine. It goes through batteries...Read more
